Joure, 17-09-2012: The new KelvinBOX packaging solution will be made of BioFoam®. With this step, Cryo Store, specialist in storage, packaging and distribution of temperature sensitive products, has introduced green innovation into their portfolio of packaging solutions.

BioFoam®, the latest innovation from Synprodo, is a new, patented foam that is comparable to EPS (expanded polystyrene). It looks similar in structure and has more or less the same properties as EPS. The raw material for BioFoam® consists of biopolymers, which are made of vegetable materials (an infinite resource). This makes BioFoam® the first foam to have an organic base. BioFoam® can be reused, is biodegradable and it can be industrially composted at high temperatures under the influence of moisture and bacteria. BioFoam® is cradle-to-cradle (C2C) certified and has been awarded with various national and international innovation awards.

Cryo Store has worked closely with Synprodo to develop and optimize the use of BioFoam® as suitable packaging solution for temperature controlled shipping of biological materials. To the outside world, gliding is a bit unknown. People are surprised about the speed and distances. Euroglide 2012 is a European gliding race over 2000 kilometers in 10 Days. Several teams take the challenge, sponsored for each kilometer they travel. Cryo Store sponsors Team NV with 1 Euro per Kilometer. All earnings go to the Dutch Foundation Luchtvaart Zonder Grenzen.

The Dutch foundation Luchtvaart Zonder Grenzen- Aviation Sans Frontières NL uses her expertise in the airline industry for small scale humanitarian projects, and supports related projects of other NGO’s. LZG-ASF NL facilitates and supports aircraft missions, humanitarian airfreight transportation, and provides travel arrangements and accompaniment for children in need of complicated surgery. Due to efficiency and safety reasons, many NGO’s use air transportation as their mode of transport for medication, patients and relief workers in developing countries.

The LZG-ASF NL aircraft missions department supports humanitarian organisations with the selection & preparation of experienced pilots, technicians and administrative staff. Cryo Store and Transposafe announced today the launch of the KelvinBox T900 series: THE packaging solution for all your UN3373 dry ice shipments.

The KelvinBox T900 packaging systems series has been developed specifically for dry-ice shipments of UN3373 Biological substance, Category B specimens, compliant with ADR/ICAO/IATA P650 packaging instructions.

Standard UN3373 P650 sealbags are well suited for roadtransport (ADR), but do not meet the tight regulations of IATA for airtransportation. Cryo Store achieves ISO 9001/14001 Certification

Cryo Store bv has obtained both ISO 9001:2008 (Quality management system) and ISO 14001 (Environmental management system) Certification, for “Storage and Logistics of temperature sensitive products, as well as the development, production and sales of related packaging solutions for the medical, pharmaceutical, biomedical and food industry, These highly valued, independent certifications, prove that Cryo Store’s services and processes are of the highest level, at least regarding environment and customer relations.

QSN, specialist in quality management, has worked closely with Cryo Store management to achieve certification in a very short time. “We are working according internal or client specific procedures already for a long time. QSN, however, improved our procedures even further with various recommendations, leading to our ISO handbook. We really liked working with the QSN team”, says a proud Menno R. Sappé, director of Cryo Store.

In December 2010, Cryo Store was already added to the European “Known Consigner Database” according EU regulation 185/2010. Cryo Store has gone through a range of positive changes lately. Strong increase of activities and move to the new facilities urgently asked for a new website to reflect the changes that occurred.

Cryo Store expands with new building

Joure, Cryo Store recently moved to a magnificent new location next to the older facility at the Handelswei in Joure, the Netherlands. The new facility is dedicated to the storage and distribution of temperature sensitive samples and products of medical, biological or pharmaceutical nature. However, also temperature sensitive food samples are send often through Cryo Store’s facilities, especially when delivery in perfect state is an absolute must.

Cryo Store’s new facility has office space, a closed distribution department with storage facilities between -196°C and Room Temperature, as well as a packaging development area. The longterm storage facilities have not moved.

Cryo Store exhibits at HET Instrument 2010

Joure, From the 28^st of September till 1^st of October, Cryo Store exhibits at the largest technology event in the Netherlands, HET Instrument 2010 in Amsterdam RAI. At HET2010, the organizing federation of technology branches, FHI, and over 450 participating companies will show the technological developments within industrial electronics, industrial automation and laboratory technology. The technology branches will focus during the event on safety, productivity, sustainability and health.

Cryo Store exhibits in booth # 3A014, together with GR-Instruments, supplier of ultralow freezers and refridgerators. Cryo Store will present its wide collection of packaging solutions. During the exhibition, Cryo Store will introduce the latest innovation in packaging material: Biofoam® packaging, fully biodegradable, C2C, packaging boxes.
